Chris has dedicated his working life to the creation of gardens. He is co-director of Second Nature, a long-established landscape company that designs, builds and maintains gardens throughout greater Auckland. He has a passion for the craft of building fine gardens, a love of the natural environment and a keen interest in plants. Working alongside many of the best architects, designers and tradespeople in the industry has resulted in an enviable wealth of knowledge. Second Nature holds numerous national landscaping and Ellerslie Flower Show Awards.

Chris has been awarded with a Distinguished Service Award for his long contribution to the landscaping industry. Native plants hold a particular interest for him and he has recently worked designing and building large-scale naturalised coastal gardens. After thirty-five years, Chris considers himself hugely privileged to work in a creative industry that demands high-level knowledge and skills which must focus on working sympathetically with natural processes.
