Andy Hamilton Studio is an Auckland based landscape design practice. The studio was established in 2015 by landscape architect Andy Hamilton following eleven years practicing in the UK during which Andy worked as an associate of Tom Stuart-Smith Ltd, an internationally recognised practice based in London. 

The studio’s current portfolio includes a mix of urban and rural projects throughout New Zealand, from the far north down to the Hawkes Bay and Queenstown.  International projects include two hotels in Zanzibar, private gardens on Mustique Island and Bali as well as 7 projects in India comprising private and commercial gardens.  

During his time working in England, Andy worked on gardens throughout the UK, Europe and internationally.  Projects included large country estates, urban gardens and three Chelsea Flower Show gardens, each receiving a gold medal with two winning best in show.  The international projects included two gardens in France, two gardens on the Spanish island of Ibiza, two Caribbean gardens, two gardens in India and a public garden in Marrakech, Morocco (Le Jardin Secret).  

Andy has a strong passion for plants which becomes a focus for most projects.  His planting design explores the rich and diverse native flora of New Zealand mixed with the perennials and exotic shrubs that are suited to our climate.
