Forget the hassle of maps, parking stress, and packing lunch — let us sort the logistics and come enjoy the gardens with our fantastic guides, Penny and Anna-Maria. Penny, a former lecturer in landscape architecture and Anna-Maria, a qualified landscape designer, have a lot of detailed knowledge about each garden to share! In addition to transport and highly knowledgeable guides, we also have delicious catered picnic lunches and refreshing drinks waiting for you to enjoy with the other garden enthusiasts in your group. It's going to be a great event!

 

We are looking forward to offering our successful guided tours again this year as an alternative to the self-drive option for visiting the DesignFest gardens. We provide guided visits to half of the gardens on each day, with each day's gardens carefully chosen to cater for a wide range of interests on both days.

The tours will give you a deep insight into the gardens and their designs, including plant selection information with notes and plans. We will round off each day with an opportunity for an extended walk around the last garden of the tour, glass of wine in hand.

The feedback from our previous tours was outstanding, with tourers appreciating the insights gained, the knowledge of the guides, meeting other garden enthusiasts, the delicious lunch and ease of transport - no trouble parking!
 
Led by Penny Cliffin former lecturer in Landscape Architecture at Unitec and Anna-Maria Morris, qualified landscape designer. Both are long serving and active members of the Garden Design Society, and love sharing gardens with fellow garden enthusiasts.

 

The tour will visit half the gardens on Saturday and the other half on Sunday, so join us for both days to see them all. Seats are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment. 
  
Tickets: $150 for one day, and $290 for both days. This includes a delicious picnic lunch, refreshments, mini coach travel, tour guides, Garden DesignFest entry fees and garden notes.  The pickup and drop off point for both Saturday and Sunday bus tours will be from Unitec Institute of Technology, Carrington Rd, Mt Albert. Further information including pick up time and exact location will be emailed to you personally prior to the event.
